To promote the use of technologies, processes and procedures to enable the use of multiple applications on a single card, for the most cost-effective and optimal utilization of national resources. To develop, encourage adoption of sustainable, scaleable business models; reduce entry barriers for cashless remote financial transactions in the developing world; consider prevalent ground realities like income and spending patterns, available connectivity, merchant`s needs, social concerns and other issues specific to our country.
Smart cards will encourage and enable the use of digital signatures and PKI for enhanced end-to-end security and transaction trace ability to combat fraud; reduce crime; and safeguard against terror attacks.
